David TurpiePerforming in pubs and clubs at the age of 13, David took on drumming, bass and guitar duties in various cover bands, concert bands, musical theatres and original groups throughout his secondary and tertiary education. Bands such as Meester, Jettison and Berth exposed the young musician to performing at iconic venues such as the Espy (Melbourne), Bridge Mall Inn (Ballarat) and countless others as well as recording sessions at Birdland. Starting off Sattva as a solo project for a number of years was fun to begin with but, the craving of musical comradeship saw him make the decision to bring together a band of not only great players but, great mates. Tapping into a wide range of musical influences as part of his song writing has given the band a sound that isn’t easily categorized but, if it connects to you in some way then that’s all matters. | Harrison JennerWhat you would call ‘a musical all-rounder’ and just a very nice guy Studying music throughout his high school years, Harrison has enjoyed performing in a variety of musical projects in a short period of time. A former member of Ironstone, he is also part of the Stacy V and Harry J duo as well as keyboardist with the Linkin Park cover band ‘Points of Authority’. Add to this, stints in musical theatre orchestras and you have an eclectic arrangement of styles covered. No musical job too big or small for this young man and when he showed up with a keytar for his first rehearsal we thought “this is the guy!!!!” |
Jeremie CollardThis young whipper snapper started his career at age 13 on guitar and joined his first band at age 15. Graduating with a Bachelor of Music Performance in jazz and contemporary guitar, he has gone on to perform bass/guitar duties with various cover and original groups in Melbourne and Bendigo as well as musical theatre (meeting David Turpie along the way and a musical friendship was born) insert cheesy ‘ahhhh’ sound here. Jeremie really enjoys being able to bring his playing style and experience to Sattva Arising. Believe me this is something the band benefits greatly from as he is solid as a rock and ready to play whatever style you require, even German Oom Pah if the price is right | Mitch CharltonMitch Started playing bass the non-tender age of 15 and immersed himself in the music scene performing with several original rock/metal groups. He expanded on this and started to mix with other ensembles covering a mix of blues and indie music styles which, opened up a new side and approach to his instrument. A producer in his own right, Mitch has had the pleasure of working with an recording local groups and is excited to be a part of the Sattva Arising journey where he is looking to further his musical depth and facilitate creativeness!

Adam BourkeWith over 25 years of experience in performance and 15 years of teaching music, Mr. Bourke has a pretty decent list to add to a CV. He has performed in symphony orchestras with a particular interest in his favourite percussive instrument, the tambourine (that’s maybe not straight from the horse’s mouth but, an observation) as well as theatre, sessional work in the studio and numerous live settings. Some of Adam’s previous bands include Xerocks, Red Menace, Anestesia, Ruff and Ready, The Ratbags and now Sattva Arising. Adam has developed his own style of rock/blues drumming with hints of jazz and heavy metal. He’s one heck of a driving force on the kit and now a driving force behind Sattwa Arising. |
